The Refund Bot
A pot built from part of 2hour.fun's fees that can refund a whole trade made on 2hour.fun, at random.
2hour.fun opens soon. These guides explain how everything works once we're open.
The Refund Bot gives some trades their money back. A small part of 2hour.fun's own trading fees, from every trade, goes into the Refund pot. Every trade made on 2hour.fun by a signed-in account, on any coin and either chain, has a small chance to be refunded in full from that pot. Only part of what goes in is paid back out, so the pot builds up over time.
The rules
- A win refunds the whole trade, not part of it.
- There's one pot per chain (Robinhood Chain and Solana), shown as one number. While a pot fills, a trade can win if it's up to a quarter of its chain's pot; once the pot is full, a trade up to half of it can win. As the pot grows, bigger trades can be refunded.
- While the pot fills, half of what goes in is paid back out as refunds on average and the other half stays in. A trade's chance doesn't depend on its size.
- Each chain's pot fills up to $50,000 ($100,000 across both). Once it's full, wins come more often: refunds pay out more than comes in, so the pot stays around $50,000. It's still filled by its part of 2hour.fun's fees.
- From time to time the odds are boosted, for a launch window, a day or longer: while a boost is on, every trade's chance is multiplied by it, from ×2 to ×10. The Payouts page shows when. The pot rules above still apply, and on average a boost pays out at most 5 times what comes into the pot while it's on - so on a full pot, where the chance is already higher, a big boost raises it by less. A win during a boost counts towards the Supercharged badge.
- Only trades made on 2hour.fun by a signed-in account can win. Trades of 2hour.fun coins on other apps and bots still add to the pot, but can't win.
- Trades before and after a coin graduates both add to the pot and can win.
- Buys and sells both count. Being signed in is all it takes - there's nothing else to do.
- Wins are paid to your wallet automatically, usually within about a minute; a big win, or one on a very busy day, is checked by the team before it's sent, so it can take longer. They're paid in the coin's pair token (for example the stock token, for a coin paired with one). When the pot holds too little of that token, the rest is paid in ETH or SOL, or another token the pot holds, at the same value.
Every win is public
Winners see a pop-up and get a card they can share. Every win is listed on the Payouts page with its on-chain transaction, so anyone can check it.
